October 17, 2014. The Regional Minister of Economy and Industry of the Xunta de Galicia, Francisco Conde, has participated in the presentation of EnergyLab as a National Technology Centre, recognized by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. This recognition positions EnergyLab as one of the six Galician Technology Centres present in the national registry, and strengthen its position as a national reference centre in the field of energy efficiency and sustainability.
EnergyLab has attained the status of technology centre by specializing in energy efficiency, running numerous R&D&I projects that have received the support of our different board members, who believe in energy efficiency and in us as an entity.
On September 12, 2008 was born in Vigo Fundación Centro Tecnológico de Eficiencia y Sostenibilidad Energética with the mission to develop and disseminate technologies, products and habits that optimize energy efficiency and sustainability in the industrial, tertiary and transport sectors and in society in general.
Throughout these years EnergyLab has been gradually shaped as an expert authority in energy efficiency, becoming more scientific and technical capacity through conducting R&D&I projects, providing solutions to major energy consuming sectors of our country, industry, transport and tertiary, and finding the most appropriate energy-saving alternatives for each situation.
On the day-to day of our projects, quality and environmental awareness have always been present, so in 2012 we developed the implementation of the Quality and Environmental Management System, according the ISO 9001 and 14001, respectively, and our goal in near future is to make it extensible to Energy Certification System covered by the ISO 50001.
In this short road, just six years of life, EnergyLab has been maturing until become in one of the six Galician technology centres, recognized by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, strengthening our ability to access new sources of funding to develop R&D projects at national and international level. Regarding future challenges, EnergyLab bet on the development of innovative technologies for the contribution of the development of our environment, fixing the gaze in the targets set by the European Union in the Horizon 2020 and in the Smart Specialisation Strategy of Galicia RIS3.
